  • Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Peanut Nougat Bar???

I'm very new to Atkins, so all I know is to subtract the fiber from the carbs on a food label. If this bar has 19carbs and 11fiber, the bar should be 8net carbs, right?

Then HOW does the bar advertise that its only 3 net carbs? I'm looking at the wrapper right now (after I ate it, of course ) and it says 3 net carbs. What else could they be using to reduce the net carbs by 5?

Please help! I'm going to throw the box away if they're really 8net carbs!

    THANK YOU!!

Sugar alcohols, probably, so you are ok except for the fact that any of the Atkins foods can cause a stall in weight loss. Sorry.

I know, right? They are too good to be true.

It is best to go with fresh food, rather than prepackaged things like bars, shakes, sodas, etc. Your system will thank you.

What's "missing" is the glycerine. By law, it can't be accounted for on the nutritional label, which is why the math doesn't work.

You can trust the carb count on the front.

You would be better to avoid these on Induction, since they contain ingredients not allowed on Induction.

I looked at one of those in the store and say the same thing. Very low net carb count on the front but when you just subtract fiber the carb count is much higher. If you look on the label, like mentioned they have also subtracted sugar alcohols. Some say you don't absorb them so you can subtract them, others say you can absorb up to 1/2 so it's iffy. Either way they aren't good on plan. Most seem to stall when they add in the shakes or the bars.

One won't hurt you though, it's eaten and done, now you know.
