You didn't go over your net carbs, according to what you entered in FitDay.

I had a celery stick before i went to bed last night with a tablespoon of mayo aswell.
Don't forget to add that in FitDay.

Also i just made for breakfast 2 eggs with some butter scrambled with a tomatoe?x
    Sounds good!

Owen, you might want to read Chapter 8 "The Complexities of Carbohydrates" in DANDR 2002. Dr. ATkins discusses the Glycemic Index. See not all carbohydrate containing foods affect your blood sugar the same way. So it is a fallacy to believe that all carbs are the same and that eating 20 carbs of tomatoes is better than eating 20 carbs of bread because it's tomatoes, not bread.

Dr. Atkins wasn't ignorant when he made up his rules of Induction. He knew that different foods had different affects on blood sugars. And he knew that keeping the blood sugar as stable as possible was an important factor in losing weight. The foods on the "other list" are typically higher in carbs and some of them have higher glycemic indices than the foods on the "salad list".

Not that I am aware, but it is often interpreted that way.

Again, ADBB follows Dr. ATkins New Diet Revolution 2002 ed. And that book clearly states the vegetables are limited to 3 cups daily: either 3 cups from the "salad list" OR 2 cups from the "salad list" and 1 cup from the "other list". It does not say that one can pick any vegetable from the lists and eat any amount they want so long as they do not exceed 20 net carbs daily.

Cool, thanks! I never saw it interpreted that way, but then I'm relatively new to forums.

So am I wrong thinking that I am making a better choice eating tomatoes instead of bread?

Not necessarily - if you are at the phase of Atkins which includes flour (OWL rung 9) and you have found that eating foods made with flour do not make you gain weight or give you blood sugar problems then choosing 5 net carbs of bread would be a perfectly valid choice to make - assuming the ingredients list didn't show sugar or other non-Atkins ingredients.

For induction tomatoes are a good choice as they contain lots of nutrients in them as well as adding taste and variety to meals.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

But for most people tomatoes would be a better choice than bread right? My understanding is that they have a lower glycemic impact.

Yes. You don't WANT to eat white bread or grains even until OWL 9--and even at that, I wouldn't add white bread. It's way too processed to be anything good for your body.

So yes--tomatoes are a good choice during induction and afterward, unless they have an adverse affect on your weight loss.

Depends on the person. I cannot eat any dish that combines eggplant and tomato because that combination of foods destablizes my blood sugar to the point that I want to eat everything in sight. However, I can eat bread without that problem. I can't eat cantaloup due to the same cravings issue, but I can eat watermelon without any problem at all.

2Big cannot eat celery because she gets cravings. We have had ADBB members who get cravings from broccoli. One member was a diabetic who was able to document a blood sugar spike after eating broccoli.

But lucky for us, Dr. Atkins developed the OWL Phase, where we can test these foods in controlled amounts to see how they affect us. During OWL we add/eat foods in 5 net carb increments. During Pre-Maintenance Phase, we add foods in 10 net carb increments.

Another rule of Induction is that we are to eat the amount of food that satisfies our hunger. So force-feeding ourselves 15 net carbs of broccoli and spinach when we aren't hungry is contrary to that rule.
