From Induction to Maintenance, this semi-annual challenge is open to any member of ADBB
The purpose of this challenge is for us to understand what eating our vegetables really means! We are all trying our best to eat a healthy diet. Often on ADBB we hear people say that they are indeed eating their veggies. Vegetables are a big part of following the Atkins WOE. On page 84 of DANDR, Dr. Atkins talks about the importance of vegetables and what they add to a healthy diet, go have a look.
Did you know?
There are specific recommendations for how many net vegetable carbs to consume daily? For purposes of earning the award, you must consume the proper amount of net vegetable carbs for whichever phase of Atkins you are currently on:
Induction - your challenge is to consume 12 to 15 net vegetable carbs per day
OWL - your challenge is to consume 17 to 20 net vegetable carbs per day
Maintenance - your challenge is to consume 22 to 25 net vegetable carbs per day
A few rules:

State which rung/phase you are on
Chart your net veggie carbs for the full 5 days
Report your net carbs to this thread at the end of each day
You must try a new vegetable at least once during the 5 days
Have fun and eat your veggies!
Helpful hints for making the most of the challenge:
· When consuming vegetables for this challenge, please go by net carbs (Total carbs minus fiber = net carb).
· Your daily numbers should be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
· If you are already tracking your foods in a fitday or similar type program, continue with that and pay particular attention to the net veggies that you are getting.
· If you don’t have an account you can set one up at Fitdayor make sure to log it on a piece of paper, or better yet, in your Journal Stats thread.
- Don’t wait until the end of the day and try to hit the mark all in one sitting. Spread those veggie carbs throughout the day!
