Hey Brook welcome to the challenge!!

Okay.. no specific goals for me, I am just going to work as hard as i can to lose this weight, no excuses and no binges!!!!!!!!!!! I am on TOM right now so it is really frustrating for me not to know if I'm losing or if it's just water retention or something, garrrrGh!!

I hope this month is better then December with my whopping 4 pound loss last month (I say sarcastically). Going to have to do better then that. No excuses!!!

        Goodluck everyone

Can I follow Mary over here? I feel I'm holding on by my fingernails right now - a sure sign of that is my lack of logging in and actually participating in any of the forums here. My goals.....

          1. Drink water every single day. Lots of water.

          2. Find out just what it is that makes me snap and start eating stuff that's not good for me.

          3. Eat less! Move more!

          Will this get me started????????????????

Yankee so glad you made it over here!!

You can totally do this, it's a new year and we all have a clean slate!

I am having a hard time with TOM this month. I've only had like two regular periods since starting atkins (that's a good thing though, as I was always irregular before).. anyway I'm not used to it so I have no idea if a 4-5 pound gain during TOM is normal or if I royally screwed up somewhere along the way Any advice on this matter would be appreciated. If I'm screwing up I don't want to delude myself into thinking that it's just tom! In the meantime I'm doing my best to exercise and eat acceptable amounts of food, it's just hard to be "flying blind" lol.

I'm off to work, woohoo it's friday though! Take care everyone!

                Re: ~~Winter ONEderland Challenge(Jan.)~~~

Ha! I just realized there are two headings for this challenge and I stupidly posted in the old one to motivate myself. Doesn't really matter I guess as I managed to NOT eat those toasted english muffins, I DID burn some calories, and I AM drinking all my water. Can't get into the kitchen right now (good thing) as dh is putting down a new floor. No access to the frig is an added benefit!

Dd needs some new clothing the skinny little thing so I am headed for the sewing room to make skirts. Size 4 skirts. I think the last time I wore a size 4 was when I WAS 4. LOL....

Way to go on not eating those muffins!!! Just think if you had eaten them, they'd be nothing but a memory and residual guilt right now anyway. Congrats, I know fighting minute by minute temptations can be tough!

The scale is still up higher then it should be today, I sure hope I get a big whoosh sometime soon I'm so confused about it. I had the worst stomach ache this morning. I was cleaning the house and full of motivation and energy, and then bam, my stomach starts to hurt! Hopefully I'll get my energy back soon and can go back to cleaning up the pine needles from our xmas tree!

                  Have a good day everyone!

                    Re: ~~Winter ONEderland Challenge(Jan.)~~~

Hi guys... how is everyone today? I am doing well, I slept for 13 hours last night!!!! and for at least 10 the night before!!!! yikes! I am wondering if my body is trying to fight something off or what! I need to really get my cravings and my binges under control!!!! first things first, I need to get back to strict induction, I will be checking the cupboards and heading to the grocery soon... so tomorrow will be a fresh start for me and I will have plenty of "good" foods to eat.... cheese- should I say more? CUT BACK! and SUPPLEMENTS, maybe I haven't been very energetic because I haven't been taking these either... finally --- water I MUST drink more of it!!!!

Even though I haven't really lost any weight in the last few months I have been getting more of the wow rikki has lost, or i can telll you have lost weight, or just people asking how much I have lost... I think it takes a while for you weight to shift around becasue I feel like I weigh the same as I did 3 months ago but people didn't notice then.. oh well just food for thought...or, umm, not food, I am cutting back on that!

                      Re: ~~Winter ONEderland Challenge(Jan.)~~~

Today begins with new resolve and new committment. I did ok yesterday with what is is in the house - really need to get to the market but can't till tomorrow. The food end of it was just boring - I'm sick of chicken! The kids and dh had pizza for lunch so I made one in a bowl with no crust. Tasty but pepperoni and mozzarella just isn't good for you. Sigh. But I drank my water and didn't cheat.

I've put in an application for boot camp in an attempt to snap myself into a more healthy approach to Atkins and now I'm scared! I'll prepare by getting to market before it starts. While I can't check in early on the days I work I can still check in in the evening. I hope I get in!!!

Have a great Atkins friendly day!!!

                        Re: ~~Winter ONEderland Challenge(Jan.)~~~

Rikki - I know what you mean!! December I barely lost anything and that's when I got the most comments from people!!! Weird!!

Yankee - goodluck with bootcamp! Let us know how it is. I'm not sure if it's something that would be for me or not, so I look forward to hearing from you about it! I'm sure you'll do great!

When you both are out shopping for supplies, may I recommend always having lots of eggs in the house - whenever you think there's nothing atkinsy to eat, a cheese omelet is always good! As is tuna with mayo! Both are very cheap

My weight finally shifted downwards again, it went from 192 the other day to 188.8 today, so now I know positively it must have been water retention from TOM. Thank goodness!! Hopefully it will take a few more friends with it tomorrow, because I really wanted to be lower this week. Well must exercise like a madwoman today, February 1st I am going to try on wedding dresses!!

LOL... I haven't had tuna in a long time. Think I OD'd on it and had to quit. Same thing happens with eggs now and then. Too much of a good thing...

Trying on gowns will be soooo exciting! My wedding was 18 short years ago and I still remember being the shock of seeing myself in that mirror. You know, it was probably the only time in my life I felt beautiful. That gown is still hanging in my closet. Hmmm.... a new goal is emerging. I've a long way to go before I reach it but.... I think I can get there.
