thanks you two! That was a LONG three weeks! One week with no power at all, the next two with things half up and half down. Hopefully, we are back to normal now!

AND I NEVER WENT OFF PLAN! Did the cooking on a camping stove and we survived!

The clean up in this area is still a work in progress. But it is amazing what they have been able to accomplish. Phone poles looked like broken match sticks. I have never seen anything like it. They say it will take years for the trees to recover and alot did not survive. We lost one huge one and several smaller ones.

The night of the actual storm was one of the scariest things I have seen. We stood on the porch and listened to the tree limbs snapping, trees falling, transformers exploding and lighting up the sky. It was unreal.

Thank heavens we had a generator to keep the frig/freezer and sump pump going. Alot did not and many people suffered alot worse damage then we did.

I would take a normal 3-4' of snow over something like that anyday!

BREN! I thought about you when I saw that on the news! (((Hugs))) lucky you to have a generator! We need to get one of those, they can really save you!

That is the kind of snow we get when we get it. Well actually ours seems to always start as freezing rain, trees and power lines snap off just like your's did! The longest we had to go without power was 11 days though! God bless you! 3 weeks yikes!

Been a busy little bee! John's doing GREAT, thanks for asking! We also just found out we WON our case, the lawyer called a little while ago! John will get the unemplyment pay that was originally denied! YAY! Things are looking up here (finally!)

so did you get lots of exercise shoveling snow? did you get to curves and lead folk in exercise or did it close down too?

Thanks Bren. So now that you guys have gotten your first storm of the season done with, are you ready for a real winter? It was 27 degrees here this am but is susposed to be back in the 70's by the end of the week.

I see we come from the same place Bren. We lost power from Thursday night until Sun night. Cable was on the next day. It was freaky wasn't it? I'm still cleaning up the yard and will be for a long time. One of the biggest reasons we bought our house was because of the yard and big tree- now it's all gone. It's all very sad Glad to see you're doing OK now.
