depends on who you ask and when. Today, maybe in Boston it's baseball with the Red Sox (if they get it back together) and definately in Colorado it's baseball due to the Rockies win. In my house, probably bicycle racing. Hubby's a BIG race fan and if there is a televised race, he's watching.

Unlinke what Katlam said about it depends who you ask in what state in the US, I think here it's unanimous:

NHL Hockey, CHL Hockey, Jr. Hockey, Women's Hockey, World Hockey, Minor Hockey, Peewee Hockey, House League Hockey, Shinny Hockey, pond hockey, pick-up hockey, Floor Hockey, Road Hockey, Table Hockey, video hockey....

Our national sport is curling which in all fairness is quite popular too..but not to the level of our obsession with hockey

I typed hockey so many times the word is starting to look weird to me

just looked it up. Order of US favs. 1. football, 2.baseball and nascar is gaining very quickly but the odd thing they said is that more people play basketball in the US than any other sport.

I'm still amazed at how many people show up to college football games in the US, we cant get half a crowd that size at a CFL game!

i was wrong about curling being our national sport, apparently the queen and hte house of commons declared hockey and lacross:

The game commonly known as ice hockey is hereby recognized and declared the national winter sport of Canada and the game commonly known as lacrosse is hereby recognized and declared to be the national summer sport of Canada.

Is anyone in the US/Canada watching the new soccer league? Not sure how well it will do in the us...it's got alot to compete with as far as sports go.

Michigan and Tennessee pack in a over a hundred thousand easily when they play at home. College football is amazing.

Ha ha - yes, there is, but we had to import and host a bunch of high school (sorry "Public School") teams from the UK to have enough other clubs to play.

We thought they were extraordinarily cool because even in high school they were allowed to go to pubs and they taught us naughty drinking songs. "I love my wife, yes I do, yes I do, I love her dearly, I love the....."

Any of our UK friends know that one?

What would you say for the UK Richt? It has to be proper football, right? I.e. Soccer. Cricket too, but at the moment people are going crazy for the rugby.

I think football is the most played sport by the general public in the country. Including me

I agree, rugby guys are hot!
However, rugby girls are not! There is this womans rugby league here and they're all very... manly. lol. always roughed up looking. Same goes for the womens roller derby.
