  • Ten Laps with MitzieMarie

    Featuring mitzimarie, member since July 19, 2006, Supporting Member

    * When I joined in July, I was on NutriSystem and contemplating whether I should give Atkins another try... I didn't re-start Atkins until Sunday, February 28, 2007.

    pace lap What are your hobbies and/or passions in life?

    * Oh, Jimmie! This stirs issues within me... I don't really have any passions or hobbies. I've been "lost" in that respect for a long time... this may be a contributing factor to my food addiction. I'm hoping to make daily exercise my passion.

    lap 2 Which describes you best: I don't weigh, ever! ~ I weigh between 2 or 3 times a week ~ I am a full blown scaleaholic.

    * I weigh once a week, on Sundays.

    lap 3 What is your favorite legal food?

    * Steak with some broccoli with cheese on it

    lap 4 What is your favorite ADBB forum?

    * STAC (Second Time Around)

    lap 5 Have you met any of your ADBB buddies in person?

    * No

    lap 6 Looking back at the beginning of your journey, did you set reasonable goals when you started your weight loss journey?

    * Yes, because I am in this for the long run; I don't consider myself on a diet... this is just the way I eat now.

    lap 7 What does 'paying if forward' mean to you?

    * To me, it means supporting others. The support I receive here is critical, and I hope that I can do the same for others.

    lap 8 Where do you see yourself in 1 year, as it concerns your woe, exercise and health?

    * I hope to have adopted a nutrional approach and exercise pattern that will last me for a healthy and vigorous lifetime that becomes so natural that I hardly have to think about it anymore; it will be second nature to me.

    lap 9 How do you challenge yourself when it comes to exercise?

    * Riding my bicycle outside is my favorite exercise right now. I try to incorporate "sprints" into my ride to "push the envelope" and increase my speed and stamina. My next challenge is to commit to some strength training with dumbbells. (Ugh! This will be hard for me.)

    final lap If you could give somebody one piece of advise about this woe/wol,
    what would you say?

    * Do not compare your own weight loss numbers to that of others and for goodness sake, DO NOT weigh yourself too often! You can drive yourself crazy that way

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!
Working...
