    One of my close friends met her husband (they were married last September) on Eharmony. I've tried a few dating sites....got scared....backed out. I don't think it's a bad way to meet people. I'm just a chicken.

      Geeze all the eharmony good reports makes me think that it is a great service.

      congrats to all you who found love online, it is not all scary as they make it seem. caution/common sense is all you need to start.

          I never used a dating service but I met a guy online and he was really cool at first then he said some stupid things so I chewed him out a few times. He fell in love the second time I let him have it while I was explaining to him why the computer I built was faster than his. We have been together for 10 years.

                  Yes, congrats purplecat! Online dating is just like any other method of meeting people. There are just as many weirdos offline as there are online (don't ask me how I know ).

                  Just use caution and good judgement as stated earlier in this post. Realize that you are a gorgeous jewel (outwardly, but most importantly inwardly) which gives you the right to take your time and to be VERY picky
