Personally I can just about manage to swim about 40 metres. Only just managed to learn, by teaching myself. never really got on with it when I was at school I just couldnt seem to grasp it. But what about you?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I can swim forever doing the side stroke of the dog paddle... but I don't like putting my head underwater due to clausterphobia... and the fact that I can't breathe water... I was a self learner too... 3rd grade best friend had swimming pool and we just sorta taught ourselves completely unsupervised as well... lol! We would challenge eachother to see how far we could go in the deep end... finally we were both swimming like fish! ah, good times, good times...

Its been a while but i have awards for swimming 4 and 8 miles, so i guess that means i can swim!

I got taught by a bossy older girl on holiday when I was about 6!! my grandparents had taken me away for 2 weeks to Majorca, and they thought it was fun to watch this other girl keep making me jump in the pool again and again - I can still hear her voice even now "no Jane, get back and do it again"!! lol I suppose I have her to thank really for getting me to swim!!!5ft 4 / female - age 36 start date - 20th March 2006 -restarted 8th August 2006 sw188/cw150/gw147

yeah, i can swim.
i once got an honorary boy scout award for doing the mile swim. jack and i would go the city pool several times a week and practice and we finally got to the point of swimming a mile.
my mom didn't learn to swim till she was in her 40's.

In fact, that was my nickname in college. I used to swim 3 miles a day then, non-stop.

yep, the ocean is a part of me, i don't feel as comfortable anywhere as i do when i am in the ocean. i don't remember ever learning to swim, we had a pool in the backyard and all i remember is swimming in it and the ocean all my life. Can i fitness swim i.e. laps for an hour -- not anymore lol, but if it came down to living and dying, i would live because i know how to swim to survive and for pure enjoyment.Take care of you!!
