How often do you weigh yourself?

    I'm a once a day girl. For years I avoided the scale and hated it. Now I have come to realize, that in order to address a problem you first have to face it. Therefore, I check my weight daily to measure the effects of my eating and exercise.

      Aw, Jeez, I don't know how many times I have told myself ONLY WEIGH ONCE A WEEK, on Saturdays, but noooooooooooo, I got on the scale this morning and had gained two pounds since last Saturday. (My weight is an obsession with me, I even dream at night about getting into uncomfortable situations because of my weight -- for example finding myself naked in a crowd of people.) Now my thoughts are saturated with doubt, because of the gain, which could be anything. When I feel discouraged, I get on this bulletin board. My weight loss goal is not as much as some, so I'm hoping that my slow (well, what I perceive to be slow) weight loss is attributable to the amount I want to lose, but I still get discouraged sometimes ESPECIALLY if I GAIN anything. I think a person will usually show a loss over a week's time if they follow Atkins, but not necessarily day to day, and if you're like I am (easily discouraged), stay off the scale and measure like most of the veterans advise. They have "been through it all" and know what they are talking about! The best thing about people on this board is their empathy. They all got da t-shirt.

        i picked once a week. Monday is my weigh in day.

          I like to weigh myself on Thursday and Sunday.

          If I weigh myself everyday there is too much fluctuation. I get depressed if I see very little movement. Weighing every third or fourth day gives me enough feedback to know if I am heading the right way. I like Thursday because it falls before the weekend ( when I am most likely to backslide ) and Sunday keeps me from overdoing during the weekend.

            I stick with once per week, because weight does fluctuate from day to day. Weighing once per week is a good indicator of what I am doing. Even week to week it will vary some, but not as much as it will day to day!

              I weigh myself once a week, any more and I'd drive myself nuts.
              The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast:
              the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'.

                  I don't weigh myself. I'm not interested in weight only in looking better. Being an ex-powerlifter I have still a lot of muscle mass, so weight isn't a good indicator of how things are going. At least thats how I feel.

                    I'm also lifting olympic weights so I don't weigh myself, only if I have to. I'll weigh in next weekend at competition but other than that, I'm off the scales. I use how I feel, if I'm stronger and the tape measure to give me more of an idea if there is any progress.

                      Once or twice a day when I'm sticking to the diet, not at all when I'm not. Unfortunately, I haven't been sticking very well lately. I did come straight home frmwork today though, as opposed to driving through Burger King fr a value meal, which the devil on my shoulder was telling me to do

                        I an' stay off the scale long enough to answer this question wisely so we shall say once every 2 days.

                          I weigh myself once per day (morning). People have told me not to do that. However, I ADMIT I am a scaleaholic. At least I can accept my own limitations.

                              Weigh too much for my own good. When I way, sometimes I skip a few days, then I go on an all-out scale binge until I'm totally miserable, and want to quit using cold turkey ... Oh, and sometimes I switch brands - like using someone else's that had a rep for being good, LOL

                                I clicked the wrong button, I only way once a week. However, every once in a while I might weight twice, I really try to avoid it, as I use to way all the time.

                                What I know:
                                1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
                                2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
                                3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
                                4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.
