We dated about 18 months before becoming "officially" engaged, although we pretty much knew we'd get married within the first six months or so. Next month, we'll celebrate 33 happy years.

Seth and I dated for almost three years and three months (two days shy)

• We met Thursday, April 17th 2003 at a singles' bible study.
• We started dating Friday, June 13th 2003.
• We got engaged (and decided to elope) on Sunday, September 10th, 2006.
• We were married Monday, September 11th, 2006 in Gatlinburg, TN.

I was engaged for a little over 24 hours !

My husband Dave and I dated for 6 years before he proposed to me. Then we were engaged for 2 more years before we finally got married Sept 03.
I'm glad we took the slow road and gave no pressure to each other at all to get married. This way when he proposed he felt like he was making a pure decision from his heart, not from me pressuring him.

September will be 5 years and we have a 3 year old son. Can't say it's been easy but I wouldn't have it any other way!

My husband and I met on Myspace (its ok, you can laugh) the last week in March 2005. I was profile hopping and seen a really cute guy so I added him. So....

Started talking last week of March 2005
Physically met July 29th, 2005
He asked me to marry him November 8th, 2005
We got married December 29th, 2005.

We originaly set a date for October 14th, 2006 but he could not wait to marry me!
So all together we knew each other 9 months and dated for 5 months.
And we love every minute of being married.

I was with my fiance from 2000 and he asked me to marry him 8 years later. I'm trying to arrange the wedding for late this year or early next. So exciting but woah, pricey.

I met my DH in 1981 (he was dating someone I worked with) and "saw him around" until 1983 when we ran into each other one night and he called me the next day and asked me out. I was so excited--we went on our first date in August of 1983 and moved in together about a month later. About a year after that we decided to get married but there was no proposal--just pulled out a calendar and picked the date --very unromantic I know. Married since December 1984.

hmm, im jealous of the short engagements too...or rather, short dating times before engagement. I'd actually like to have a relatively long engagement (over a year).

I met my boyfriend 6 years ago. We've been best friends ever since. There were some rough times along the road, and some times when I didn't treat him so well (my heart was wrapped up in someone else). We dated a couple of times, but nothing serious, and never longer than 2 months.

We got together again in February of this year and have been madly in love ever since. I'd like to get engaged by the end of the year-- but it's kind of up to him. Thanks for all of the stories!

We dated for 2½ yrs before we were married. He popped the question 6mos before we got married at Christmas, but we knew each other about 6mos to a yr before we started dating. (We were high school sweethearts.) We've been married 21 yrs.

A little over 48 hours!!! I met Matt around 10 p.m. on August 6th and we got married at 4:00 p.m. on August 9th. We didn't leave each other's sight between those hours. Nor did we do "it" until after we got married. The best part...I didn't even know his last name until we applied for our marriage certificate.

When you know....you know! Going on four years now.

Started sneak dating at 12 1/2 (he is 5-1/2 years older), allowed to date him at 14, married at 18. So dated for 5 1/2 years, now married 26 years.
