Marvin Gaye, hands down. I think his music has infinitely more substance to it than Barry White. "What's Going On?" is one of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion. Not only is it just great to listen to in general but its also a pretty brilliant social commentary. I like Barry White's music but I have a hard time taking it very seriously.
