I would have posted when I was 10 pounds to goal here in the celebration forum, but life has just grabbed my tail and ran with it. So, here I am today to share with the world that I'm 9 pounds from my goal that I set out to attack this past June...165 is just around the bend. It's been a heck of a challenge getting to where I am today, but it's worth it!
Since June, I have....
I've lost 23 pounds (in May I was around 200, so about 25 pounds are gone all together)
Exercised as much as possible, either with a treadmill, walking outside, doing the stairs at work, moving, packing, cleaning, etc.
Gone from a size 16 to a size 12/14....12 on a good day in most clothes
Completed my student teaching (
) and have a job with the same school for the rest of the school year.
Moved into a new house.
Found confidence in myself to do things I would have normally not have done before; ex: playing with my kids outside (in the dark at our new house to burn off some extra energy of excitement), doing the chicken dance with my students, playing jump rope and basketball at recess, volunteer to go up and down the stairs to "shuttle" students from one center to another during Halloween party activities, and public speaking (I did that before, but I look better in my smaller clothes doing it
).
Followed the Atkins plan as a way of eating for life from start to up the OWL rungs, and back down when I needed to adjust my eating habits and refocus.
and since June, I've become a healthier and happier human being
Thank you, ADBB!
