  • Hello ADBB...new member from Texas

    Hello ADBB members!

Just wanted to follow directions and introduce myself...

My name is Nicole and I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas excluding my time while in college. I am a single parent of a 9 year old active little boy. I spend most of my time either working and/or playing taxi to my son and his many activities.

I lost 30 lbs on Atkins back in 2003 and know it works. Back in December of last year (2005) I gained about 30 lbs after being treated for an overactive thyroid problem. When I had my last check up at the beginning of this month (April 2006) I had lost 9 lbs. My doctor said that was great...secretly I was saying to myself "Yeah Right". Anyway she did inform me that I have leveled off therefore, I should be able to lose weight again.

So I guess you can say I'M BACK! Last week I tried doing Atkins without any support like I had before and it was HARD especially when I went out of town on Saturday. But like the Atkins books says if you fall off get right back on. And that is my plan with the help of this support group.

    I hope I haven't said too much...

YAY, I'm from Texas, Dallas area, too! I moved to Cali about 2 years ago though, but welcome to the board! It's always nice to run into people from the same places you are from, hehe. Now if only we could make more southern food Atkins friendly... >=)

          Hello Lauren!

I am so excited to find such a supportive site. Is there any chance you will be starting the Boot Camp earlier?

Re: Hello ADBB...new member from Texas

Hi, and welcome! Don't worry, there's no such thing as saying too much, we love to hear everyone's story, since every single one is different.

I'm glad you're here, I know that being active on the forums here makes ALL the difference for me and my success. Without the support and accountability I find here, I think I would've been derailed a LONG time ago.

I highly recommend you join some challenges, or exercise challenges for daily accountability, those really tend to help me more than anything.

If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask anyone here, or give me a PM anytime.

                      GOOD LUCK!

I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!
