  • Hello and man I hope this works!

    Hi, I just turned 48 and I'm the heaviest I've ever been....340 lb's!
I started Monday....this is it, I'm not getting any younger and although I'm healthy now (knock on wood) I know the weight related health problems are right around the corner.
This seems like a life style of eating I can adapt to.

I hope to get to know a lot of you.....I'm sure I'll be checking in alot with questions.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hi Greg. Welcome. I was 49 when I started this WOE. I can tell you that this program works...if you do it. Read the book, Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, edition 2002. Make a plan to incorporate the program into your life schedule, drink lots of water, take your measurements, take supplements, and exercise. Be sure to keep coming to the ADBB for support. You'll never feel like you are alone, there are so many people here who want to encourage you and share your success. Get active in the forums, challenges, journals to stay motivated. We're all here for you! You can make it happen....Best wishes.

*Read the success stories, look at the before/after photos and read the Loser's Lounge (Main Atkins' forum) for inspiration.
      Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.

Thanks everyone! I had a friend take some "before" pictures which I will post maybe 40 or 50 lb's from now.

I don't think I'll even weigh myself until my first two weeks are up.
Its probably my imagination but its only been 3 days and I swear my jeans are looser

Hey! Loosening jeans is great, Greg! But...be careful... we've had members whose pants have fallen down in the street before now!!!!! A true measure of Atkins "success".

Re: Hello and man I hope this works!

Thanks again for all the encouraging welcomes....starting my sixth day and aside from having to pee constantly (esp. at night!) I've had no problems.

I was going to wait till the end of the two weeks to weigh myself but I think I'll do it after one....the looser jeans are making me curious (although they're not quite ready to fall off yet, Sally)
Thanks for the links Scooter...I will be checking those out along with the other forums.
                        Have a great day everyone!
