  • Ready for success....again

Hello everyone. My name is Sarah and I am seven days into my second Induction. I was introduced to Atkins in 2003 while I was in College by my roommate. I hate to say this, but his unwillingness to follow the plan exactly was my motivation. I was able to lose around 40lbs and I kept it off for almost three years. When I got pregnant in 2006, all restrictions went out the door and I decided to live off of sloppy joes, pizza, and ice cream. Needless to say I gained 75lbs. 8lbs 4oz of that is my beautiful baby girl Charlotte. I decided to start Atkins again because I know it works well for my body. I can't believe the difference in energy in only a week. I joined a new gym that is next door to my job so I can get in there before I go to work. I'm also meeting with a trainer once a week. It's difficult to find the time to get there being a single mother, but I'm working it out. I have not gotten on a scale since I checked for my starting weight, and I think I'm going to wait awhile before I do that. I'll probably check every 2-3 weeks. It's really not about the number for me, but more about the way I feel and look in my clothes. I'm not just doing this for me anymore. I'm doing it to be healthy for my daughter and to be in a position to teach her healthy living habits.

Hi Sarah, I love the name Charlotte. Such a pretty feminine name. It must be tough to find time to exercise as a single mum. As a single girl I find it difficult! But having your health to watch Charlotte grow up is such a motivation for you.
Good idea on staying away from the scales. Don't forget to measure though.

Hi Sarah! You got that right, this is not about a number on the scale, but how you feel and how you think you look. Starting your daughter off with good eating habits is so important! Welcome to the board, enjoy it!
