Good Morning to All and Happy New Year! My name is Karen. I'm a 52 year old Grandma of 3 and live in southern Arizona. :wave I am only 5 feet tall and currently weigh 158. My highest weight was 178, but that's a lot for someone so short. I have Fibromyalgia, Post Polio Syndrome and was diagnosed with MS, but think that was Aspartame poisoning. I feel much better and have less pain when I'm on this WOE and stay away from Aspartame and MSG. I have done Atkins several times, losing each time. For some reason I get off track. This time it was my daughter and family breaking down in Texas on Christmas Eve in the cold and dark with a baby. I was scared for them and totally blew off Atkins until day before yesterday. I started in September 2004 and went from size 16, almost 18, to size 12 mostly, and a few 10's. Pants are a little tighter now. I have signed up for Atkins Boot Camp, because I have trouble doing a clean induction. I really need the accountability and somewhere to go for daily motivation. It seems when I have a support group where I can go, I do much better than by myself. No one around me, except my youngest daughter, who's in denial about her weight, really needs to worry about their weight, therefore have a hard time supporting me. They say, "Grandmas are supposed to be fluffy." Well, I'm tired of being fluffy. I don't want to be a frumpy ol' grandma. I want to feel better and look stylish. So I'll be lurking around, posting now and then.

    Hi AZKaren,

Welcome to ha I'm glad you are here. I too am a fluffy grandma of three, but at 350 I more like an overstuffed sofa. LOL LOL Forget what everyone else says, do this for you. It's your body not theirs.

    Have a great New Year
