Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for several days but haven't found the time to post until now. I have a 1 yr old and a 2 yr old so my online time is very limited, but this is such a great site I wanted to make the time to say hi. I've already found answers to so many questions and it just makes me feel like I'm not going it alone.
I started Induction 10 days ago, and I've already lost 10 pounds. I'm absolutely thrilled. I had been stalled at 159 for so long and it seemed like nothing would help. After reading my book and checking this site, I think I was probably in starvation mode and eating all the wrong foods. To be completely honest, I had sworn I would never try Atkins. Several years ago, it seemed like everyone I knew was on Atkins and so many seemed fanatical about it, to the point that a piece of bread to them was like garlic to a vampire! Now I understand. I also watched many of them balloon back up as soon as they stopped the program, but I also understand now that you can never really "stop." You just move to another phase and make permanent changes is your life. I'm sure that will be the hardest part for me.
My goal weight is a mystery to me, because I don't know how I will feel or look at lower weights, but I'm shooting for 130 or so. A few weeks ago, that seemed like an impossible goal but now I know it's within reach. Yay! And for anyone that told me about Atkins a few years ago and I rolled my eyes - I apologize
