  • Been There/Done That/Back Again :)

    Hi everyone!

I'm new here, but not new to Atkins. Years ago (before Atkin's was a well known name) I read the book and ended up losing about 40 pounds.

Since then, I became comfortable and ate and ate and ate.... now I need to lose those 40 or even more this time - but aiming for the 40 first.

I'm a mom of 2 (ages 10 & , homeschooler, farmer, and computer geek living in Northern VA

This is the end of week 2 (I think - I'm so lost on days it's not funny)... and I've lost ~10 pounds so far - the other day the scale said 171 and this morning it said 174 and since 172 would have been 10 pounds, I'll take the average.

I actually added coffee to my diet for a little bit. I know some people are against it - but I need caffeine and well diet coke I think was the culprit for slowing down the weight loss. So as long as I double my water in-take I think I'll be fine. I do sweeten it with splenda - since a girl HAS to have at least one vice and mine is sweet stuff.

I need to add more exercise - and think I'll aim for some of the challenges I saw when I was browsing around yesterday. My abs need it - so I'm looking into that challenge

But I must say - it's fun fitting into underwear that didn't fit 2 weeks ago

Welcome Dana! Good to have you with us!

Congrats on your losses so far... and kudos to you for the decision to add in exercise. Exercise is the best aid to weight loss in this way of eating... or, I should really say it's a mandatory part of the programme. Soon you'll be fitting into everything better, not just undies!

    Happy losing!

Welcome Dana! Coffee doesn't affect everyone's weight loss so it's fine to add it (in moderation). If you do start to stall, I would recommend that you get rid of the coffee first. But, don't worry you won't stall to begin with!

It's great you started exercising, that will help as well. Best of luck to you.

              Re: Been There/Done That/Back Again

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'm already trying out a bunch of the recipes and still browsing around!

I couldn't imagine having a "mono-crop" of cotton! I get bored some days with all we have here - if it was just 1 item WHEW I might go nuts (kinda like I was when we had the 200 tomato plants coming in and we canned until we just couldn't do it anymore!)
