Okay, I've been here before but it's been awhile. I am 12 days in so far and feel like this time is going to be different....for one thing I FINALLY managed to get a picture on here.....you have NO IDEA how difficult this was for me. I'm sure I'll never remember how to do it again!! Anyway, I am determined to stick with this! Thanks to everyone for all your support, it's such a tremendous help. I literally spend hours on here reading.

Thank you all for your encouragment.....I am a little down this morning. I lost 7 lbs the first week I was on this and then my husband HID MY SCALE!!! I finally found it this morning after 5 days and I weighed and haven't lost another pound!! I wish I hadn't found it, now I am discouraged. I will keep at it though. I need to learn to listen to him, he hid it because this is what I always do. When the scale doesn't go down like I think it should, I freak out and quit. When will I learn???

I used to be a scale addict, but now I force myself only to weigh once a week under the same circumstances. If I don't I will drive myself crazy.

Re: I've been here before, but this time I am back to stay!!

              Welcome back!

I know how you feel about the scale not moving, but the one thing you have to remember is that you will not lose weight every day, sometimes not every week. It's partly your body adjusting to the new WOE, partly the joy of being a woman... you know, hormones, TOM, all that fun stuff! What I will suggest is to take your measurements now, get a spiral bound notebook, post them along with your starting weight and if you weigh every day (as I do), you can see what might be making it go a little slower than you planned. The measurements are important (even though it will probably make you a little sad/mad), because a month from now you will see that even if the scale has not moved as much as you thought it should, the inches will already start coming off. You'll notice that your clothing feels looser and you'll get into things that had been too tight.

For me, I lose weight every few weeks, a couple of pounds here, a couple there, regain a pound or two (even if I haven't changed anything!) and then suddenly lose them again and a few of their friends. The inches have gotten really noticeable the last few months, so that has helped motivate me to keep going.

I am finally at a weight I haven't seen in over at least 12 years. I'm not by any means skinny, but I am healthier than when I started and know it will take at least another six months to get where I want to be. I have lost 40 pounds since July and for the most part have followed Atkins. I fell off a few times, a week here and there, tried Southbeach for a few weeks, binges a few times, etc., and said that I needed to get a grip! I had made progress, but let my emotions get hold of me and struggled. I am now back fully on plan and making small goals for myself. No more than 10 pounds at a time. It is easier to focus on the next ten pounds than the overall picture of how long it might take. When I started I had a goal to get to 155 since I knew that would easier to grasp than saying I wanted to get back to 125. I knew that if that was the only goal I reached, I would be happy. I hadn't been under 190 in about 5 years, so 155 made me feel like I would be slim. Well, I'm getting closer, but anticipate it won't happen until the first of the year. I'm OK with that! Small steps!!

Well, I didn't mean to ramble on like this, but wanted to let you know that there are others with the same struggles. You'll do great, post often and lots of support here at the forum!

thanks, deb.....I think I will change my mini goal to 10lbs at a time....right now getting to 215 sounds almost impossible. Baby steps.....I've read that so many times on here!

Welcome back. I have to laugh at the scale thing! I asked DH to hide mine one time and I went searching for it too! Don't be discouraged, it's just a number. Did you measure yourself before you restarted induction? Often we lose inches and not necessarily pounds. As long as you're eating 100% on track, drinking your water and exercising a bit, you should be A-ok! Please don't quit!

Yes welcome back you have all you need right here on these forums. Way to go DH I tend to do the same thing with the scale on and off and if I dont like what it says I keep getting on and off. LOL

Dont be discouraged you know how Atkins works if you are not watching your carbs exactly, or drinking your water or exercising a little it wont work. Back on track, we can do this, you can do this.
