  • Hi, I'm a newby to Adkins

I started a week ago and have lost a total of 7lbs and feel great!!!! There was one day I lost 4lbs but then the next day nothing and the day after that gained 2 back so that was pretty discouraging, but today I lost 1 so that made me feel better.

Hi. Welcome to the family. One thing that helps keep you motivated is to take your measurements. Watching the inches melt away is even more motivating than seeing pounds that tend to fluctuate up/down. Glad to hear you are feeling great. Keep us posted on your progress, we care and want to share your journey with you!

Hello and welcome to the forums. Question, why do you weigh yourself so much? In the beginning I had a starting weigh in and then at the concusion of my induction period I reweighed meself again. I think it'd be discouraging for me if every single day my weight fluctuated up and down the next. May bum me out as well. Stay off the scale in the beginning and judge your success by the way clothing fits you. I feel according to my clothing, that I lost a lot more weight than I actually did. In total I lost almost 20 lbs but it feels like alot more. I think it's more self assurance that this thing I'm doing now really does work. Besides, I detest scales anyhow. Hang in there and stay strong. God Bless, Joe

Lol, stay off that scale woman! Make your visit to the scale a weekly visit rather than a daily visit, cause you're just gunna make yourself depressed. Believe me. I've lost 5 pounds within a day, and gained it all back the next day. It's -infuriating-. You can see your weight loss better on a weekly base anyways.

And just remember, if your scale isn't moving then your inches are going down. Either way, somethings happening, so never give up! The proof of your efforts will be in the looseness of clothes that were previously tight fitting
I will lose weight, I will lose weight, I WILL LOSE WEIGHT!

Remember ATKINS is a way of life/way of eating~~~not a diet or a race. Stay off the scale or you'll drive yourself nuts & get discouraged & quit. Take your measurements~~~inches lost are a wonderful thing!!!

              Good luck on your journey!

Welcome & congrats on the weight loss so far!! The scale can be very discouraging so make sure to take your measurments too, sometimes the scale won't budge but you can see that you are still losing inches!!
