  • Not so new, newbie!

Hi! My name is Natalee, I was a LONG time member to this board in 2004.. I loved fallowing atkins and met many great friends here.. I know if it werent for this board I would not have made it the year I did on atkins!
So here we are, few years later, and a few pounds heavier! It took me about a year to gain all the weight back after I stoped atkins, I've wanted to go back so bad but just found it so hard!
    So where am I now?
I'm actually fallowing a different diet (protocol) now, and have found great great success with it, the thing is that the third and fourth phases of my current protocol are basicly atkins induction and then owl and ltm mixed together...
Because I'll be living 'atkins' for certin parts of my protocol, I thought I'd join for support durring those times, and for food ideas!
I started my new weight loss journey on Sept 24th at 218. As of today I've lost 28 lbs and am at 190.5. My goal is 135, and I hope to be there by summer.... High hopes I know, but it sure would be nice!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

very sad I haven't recieved one welcome, maybe because of the way I'm doing the plan??
guess I'll just be a voyer to the board for a while.

      Hi, Natalee

I'm very sorry that you haven't gotten any responses. I would love to have enough time to be here and greet everyone, but unfortunately, I work 6 days a week, and my time is limited.

Yes, I'm guessing that it is possible that others may have gone on to respond to other posts, because you are not following the 2002 version of Atkins that this board is based around. I'm sorry that you have felt neglected. The truth is, it would be difficult for any of us to advise or comment on your way of eating, since you don't follow the plan strictly, as many of us do. I have found through personal experience, that the plan works best for me if I follow it exactly as intended.

You are very welcome here, though! There really is so much to learn and get involved in. Who knows... after getting to know more about us and the plan, you may decide to become an Atkineer! Again, I apologize for not responding to your post. Please, please feel free to become part of our community.

      Best wishes to you.

        Re: Not so new, newbie!

I did fallow atkins by the book for almost a year.. I was VERY disiplined on the plan and LOVED it!! You can still see some of my posts looking at the history of this board in 2004, my name was AngelnPrincess... but I couldn't remember my pass word so I had to set up a new one.
I found great success with the plan, ended up loosing almost 40 lbs, which for me was a nearly unbelievable... I really struggle with loosing any weight any other way.

I fell off the plan when I had to make a very large move accross the US, then ended up working as a GM at a bagel shop... well it was over from there for me...
I tried and tried to get back on the plan with no luck..

I found my current plan through family, and again LOVE it... the eating in the 3rd and 4th phase is Atkins. The first 3-6 weeks of a cycle is a more restricted diet with some injections.. after that its all Atkins... Some people just don't realise it! LOL

So ME? Im just doing Atkins 100% of the time right now. Im in the induction now, and plan to slowly add a few more carbs starting on Thursday of next week... I will always and forever be eating low carb... its the only thing that works for my body!!
So yes the start of my protocol is a bit more invasive, I droped 30 pounds in 5 weeks..
The phase Im in now is me slowing the weight loss a bit, by living atkins.. and I LOVE IT..
I would hate to think that no one responded to me because they feel I don't know Atkins, or that Im not fallowing atkins plan... I am! I basicly did a bit more abrasive begaining phase before I jumped into the atkins way of life again!

Thank you for the welcome! sorry for my tantrum! LOL

I have very high thoughts on atkins. When I started the plan in 2004 I was horribly depressed, Atkins was the ONLY thing that pulled me out. It wasn't the weight loss either! I truely believe that carbs depress our bodies therefore deppress our souls... They slow us down and hold us back.
I will forever and ever be a very strong advocate of the Atkins way of eating!!

          Hi again, Beautiful

Thanks for sharing more of your story. I'll bet if you get more involved in the different things around the board, you'll be able to make friends quickly. Even though you are not new to Atkins or the board, I think it may be helpful to you to check out this link. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-new-read.html

Of course, you'll know most of this information already. However, you may have noticed that the board has gone through an upgrade and changed a bit since you were here last. There is some info in that link that will instruct you on how to add information to your siggie that will appear each time that you post, so we can know a little more about you when you do post. Also, there are some links in it to some popular spots on the board. Really, I am positive that you will fit in quite nicely here! No need to just lurk - we want to hear more from you!

          Again - welcome!
