  • hello , Im blubberman and i'm new

    Hello Everybody .

I'm a 46 year old bloke from Wales in the UK , fairly fit and muscular but carrying too much weight which is causing problems with my joints . I started putting weight on when I gave up smoking 18 years ago.

I started atkins induction 2 days ago , I've gone from 254 lbs to 247 lbs already and I feel great .

I "did" Atkins a few years ago , lost about a stone but then lost my way and started eating anything again.

Now I am back because I have some early signs of arthritus in one of my knees and also problems with my lower spine which gets worse the heavier I am .

In the past I have tried reducing calories but always feel hungry . It is only Atkins which stops my cravings for food and which actually works ok for me . Last time I tried Atkins , I felt much much better and more alive that when consuming copious amounts of carbohydrates.

Iv'e just got to be tough with myself and stick to it this time.

I'm going to do it !

    Thanks for reading this

Welcome to you and more important -- welcome back! You know the program works, you just need encouragement to stay with it. Isn't it amazing how, as we get older, our body gives us all sorts of trouble? I always thought arthritus was for "old people"...until I got it - hey, I'M not old...LOL

Good luck on your journey - stay strong and you'll be there before you know it!!

      Hi Imagood1 ,

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I hope your arthritus is not too serious .

I am rather happy because I have now gone into Ketosis

            Hi Babyblue,

Thanks for the encouragement , I'm sure I will do it because I MUST lose some weight or I will suffer in later life . Luckily I am a keen cyclist so I will be able to shed the pounds by exercise which unfortunately some people are unable to do .

Good luck on your journey too .

            Thanks
