  • Hello from Houston! Weight Loss Goal of 60 pounds!

    Hello everyone! I'm a 31 yr old female w/4 little ones. My husband and son both have Asperger's, so our house is a mixture of educational intrigue, humor and a little bit of chaos!

    This is my 2nd time on Atkins.

    I tried it 2 years ago and lost 27 pounds in just 2 1/2 months. At that time, I was only 15 pounds away from my target and thought that I could start "cheating" a bit here and there. It snowballed very quickly, because the sugar made me feel immensely hungry and I just ate, ate and ate after that! Unfortunately, over the last 2 years, I not only gained back those 27, but added on more that I now need to lose!

    I'm back and motivated again! I'm not worried about the next 2 months, I can do anything short term. I just want to make sure that I have a plan in place this time around so that I don't go from one extreme to the other.

    My previous struggles were:
    - Dealing w/friends & family who invited us over for meals or celebrations
    - Vacations spent in a hotel w/out a full kitchen to cook meats, eggs, etc.

    Diet Started on 3-21-09, down 6.5 pounds (water weight) as of 3-24-09. Currently dealing with the induction headache blues as my body starts to get ready to enter Ketosis mode. Good luck everyone! Let's do it right this time!

        good morning and welcome to the best tool you can use to help as you use this WOE. Congratulations on getting back and restarting. I bet you have your hands full with 4 little ones in the house! How old are they?

        A couple quick reminders: get moving - any and all exercise helps tone your body; and drink plenty of water. Dr Atkins says at least 64 oz a day -- drink that and add another 8 oz it will help flush out the nasties in your system plus it will regulate your system while it is changing from sugar & starches to good foods.
