Hello all,
I'm new on the board and just wanted to into myself and say hi to everyone!
I've been on induction since the beginning of March and I have lost about 30 pounds so far! I have finally found my personal key to weight loss and keeping it off long term and I'm very excited about it!
In March I had a revelation while looking through New Years Eve pictures. I just wasn't happy with what I saw and wanted to change it. I don't know what it was about those pictures but it's like they caused something in me to change drastically. My attitude towards food and 'dieting' has matured greatly. I am viewing induction as a tool to get me to a weight where I can then easily maintain the weight loss, employing the same principles that got me there. My personal pet peeve are those ppl that seem to view atkins/a LC lifestyle as a temporary change to lose weight fast. For many people who succeed on a LC WOE, this is the only way that they can lose/maintain their weight and feel healthy. It is NOT a temporary solution for many of us, and I now realize that I cannot go back to eating a high-carb, low fat diet as this just does not work for me. For those who say that they can't get started by doing induction or find it hard to do, just think about it this way.... the average lifespan is 80.34 years old (In Canada that is). That means that on average, you will live for 4160 months. Even if for one month, you take the time to try induction.. get rid of your cravings, lose weight, feel better, lower your blood pressure, get more confidence etc etc... that is 1.9% of your life that you will devote to getting on the right track. Hmm, doesn't seem that daunting now, does it??
Since starting to eat LC, I feel so much better, my skin and hair look so much better.. and not to mention the weight I have lost has given me so much more confidence. My husband jokes that now I have a whole new wardrobe cuz now I can fit into things that I haven't worn in a while! Well, jokes on him because now THOSE clothes don't fit me anymore either and I'm due for a shopping spree! Any excuse, right ladies? ;-)
Well, thats my journey so far in a nutshell. I look forward to posting, reading and getting support and answers to questions that I may have in the future. Good luck to everyone and a pat on the back for your efforts so far!!
Thank you for reading my rant!
Sincerely,
Beth
