  • And so the journey goes on again..

I have done low-carb before, and had success at it. I had went from 190+ pounds to 160 and was doing well, until the middle of my husbands deployment and then I lost track of what I was doing. That was 4 years ago, and we are about to do this thing again, but I am ready to claim my body back.

I will turn 30 in June, and I am really wanting to start the next part of my life in better health, and looking hot! This morning I weighed @ 236. My goal is 130 by my 30th birthday, but I will be happy with any weight loss.

My husband will be gone for a year or longer, and when he gets back I sure hope that I can give him back the woman he married both inside and out. I am excited about my process, and will post pictures and stats as often as I can.

    Wish me Luck!

      Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Good luck with your goal and congratulations on deciding on Atkins to help you get there.

The 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is the book we follow here. It would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to (
www.amazon.com or www.half.com have inexpensive copies). At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin without iron (you should get enough iron with the foods you are eating on Atkins).

Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – something for everyone.

Make a copy of this list
(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Hi there Armywife and welcome back to Atkins. Kudos to you for hopping back on the wagon. You won't regret it and I'm sure that you'll succeed in giving your hub back the woman he married, both inside and out.... but I'm sure it's the inside that's most important to him. It's nice to do Atkins for someone else, but do it for yourself too. You're worth it!

          Happy losing!
