  • Hello from a brand new newbie!!

    Hello!

My name is Myra & I have decided to change my life for my health. As a young person, I always was thin-- then in my 20's I began to gain weight-- and now I don't want to be this big person any more. I miss my old self where I was able to wear a bikini, and I was cute!!! I looked at old pics of me, and I cried because I am not that person anymore!!!!
I have done lots of research of which diet is best for me== and was even thinking of doing the HCG diet==which I would inject myself with HCG and do a low cal diet....... but after much thinking-- that is not something that I want to do.
I looked at this Atkins diet, and I think that it would best fit my life style-- as I am a night shift RN. I even bought an eliptical machine, so I can watch movies while working out & it's quiet so it doesn't wake up the baby,
and I bought a bunch of atkin's books on amazon which have not arrived yet, as I am preparing to start the diet jan 1.
I plan to do lots of traveling next year, and want to look nice in all my pictures!!
I want to lose about 60lbs, as I am only 5"0, and 170lbs.

          Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. The only version of the Atkins books used on this site is the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR). Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

A few more tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/

To make sure you don’t become bored by eating the same thing over and over look at these wonderful recipe sites – we have such great choices for menu ideas, eat a variety of things:

Hi Myra welcome to the board. All the best for January when you start the diet. You have these days to read the book and get all the info you want first.Take it easy during christmas because this is the time most people put weight on during parties etc.Im advising you because you will be still eating carbs and remember it will be harder losing the weight. All the best.
