  • I am new too!

Hello there everyone! I am "almost" 5 ft tall and am started my weigh in at 164 lbs - which is "obese" by BMI standards. I have battled this weight all of my life and now at an all time high - which I am committed to correct. At 57 it's time to do this for good! I am on day 10 of induction and am proud to say I have done quite well. My scale said 1 lb lost on day 7 - but I can already tell a difference in my face, neck and abdomen. I have been browsinig this site and have already gained much inspiration from everyone here. I'll keep in touch

      Hi Moocow!!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

The 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is our guideline here on the board. Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html, eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs).

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.

I am new too and here again!

Well, so far so good. I am now on day 11 and can't wait until day 14 to weight in. I can absolutely tell a difference in the way my clothes fit and co-workers are starting to comment on the changes they see. Today I celebrated with a spiffy new short hair cut. Woo Hoooo!

I gained a good part of this weight when I quit a 36 year smoking habit and the main reason I didn't do it sooner was because I didn't want to gain weight! Well, I succeeded thanks in large part to an online support group for quitters like me. I decided to use the same techniques to make this weight loss journey and I am bound and determind to succeed.

I am totally awed by what some of you have accomplished. I just love the before and after photos.

I'll check back in on Monday and let you know the numbers!

          Have a nice weekend, everyone

Fat pictures. They always help me. I could always enjoy this and that in the weekend but I want to be thinnish and then I have to control my self.
Sometimes planning for substitutes if you know you will be faced with temptations. Eat in advance in you go to a party so you will not be tempted to eat outside the plan.

                      Re: I am new too!

Drumroll please......8 lbs in 14 days! Woo Hoo! I have been going sort of heavy on those prok rinds, so am probably a little full of water weight - but none the less that's 8 lbs less than when I started. I am planning to stay on induction another several weeks - this is easy but I know better than to get over confident.
