  • Howdy I'm new here

I JUST started Atkin's at midnight. That may sound strange but I work from 4:30 pm to 5am lol. I have been on it once before when I was 14/15 and lost ~20 lbs in 3 mos. What made me decide to do this was I went clothes shopping yesterday and hadn't realized how much I lost. As of July 09 I was pushing the scales ~290 and started losing weight without trying. At the current I'm 220ish. Back to the clothes shopping: I'm currently in a 14 (BARELY!) jean and XL top so it shocked me to go to the "skinny" side and actually find a few shirts that fit but with one problem: I have a belly and I KNOW it was primarily caused by all the carbs I WAS so fond of scarfing down when I got in from work. I do good to eat one meal a day; slice of pizza whatever. I don't eat much but I do tend to take it by sprees when I can eat the walls off the house. Am hoping and praying to hit my FINAL target weight by useing Atkins. Want to know anything else, feel free to ask!

    Welcome, Lori!

Are you reading Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)?

I do good to eat one meal a day
But you're not doing this anymore, are you?

        Welcome to the board, Lori!

You really need to eat every 4 to 6 hours to keep your blood sugar levels normal. It doesn't have to be much, just a snack of maybe cheese or pepperoni to keep the cravings away. Drink lots of water and eat your veggies. Keep us posted.

Hard for me to eat every 4-6 hrs due to being at work at times 16 hrs. I know I need to drink plenty of water and try to do so daily. In the summer I generally drink ~4 gallons a day.Am actually using the OLD Atkin's for induction for now.

it doesn't mean you have to have a full meal every 4 to 6 hours... but it really helps to put food in your mouth that often (sometimes just a small cube of cheese).. it keeps your metabolism from slowing down more than normal...

during that 16 hours.. you have a bathroom break or something.... so pop a string cheese... or cheese cube... or (somebody else will think of excellent snacks).. or even hard boiled eggs in a baggie with salt and pepper.... in a tiny cooler bag in your purse or whatever...

            you can make it happen
