  • I guess I'll do an intro too

Wow, I didn't mean for that to sound so Eeyore-esque! Hi everyone. I'll be joining you now. I had day one of induction yesterday and by luck I found this forum! I've read my DANDR (2002) and I'm so ready for this! I felt great yesterday and who actually knew I liked veggies?

Some random facts about me for intro purposes:

My name is Carly, I'm 24 & live in the Washington DC Metro.
I'm originally from Chicago & spent 5.5 years in Texas (it's true, everything is bigger in Texas, including me.. I put on 70 lbs there)
I'm going overseas for the first time this year, September to be exact.
    I'm learning Italian for fun.

I look forward to getting to know you all better & providing/receiving support. Thanks for reading my little intro

Io sono Liv. Is that Italian? I kind of tried to learn it at one point. Did not get very far. But Italy is a great place to visit.

    Welcome!!!
Great that you have read DANDR. Gives you a head start.
Vegetables is the key for most of us for sure. So it is good that you are exploring that side of the programme.

          Welcome Carly!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/. Your weight loss may be more or less than others so don't worry about how much someone else lost, follow the plan the way it's written and you'll have the best results for your body.

Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily – more is better but at least 64 ounces. Take a vitamin w/o iron daily and exercise.

The 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is our guideline here on the board - if you don't have a copy you really should get one and read it so you know the science behind the plan and how to follow it correctly. Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html - eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs).

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
          Carole
