I just want to post a few things that I have been able to enjoy since starting Atkins and having already lost 21.2 pounds in 45 days.
I can now walk without getting out-of-breath, I can tie my shoes easier and I can now enjoy an expanded choice in clothes from the "skinnier" side of my closet. What, doesn't eveyone have one of those?
My home is now much cleaner because I feel like moving and getting it in shape. I got to enjoy fishing with my husband last week; we even rented a rowboat and manually rowed across the lake, something that would have been impossible for me 45 days ago. I also have more energy to do things with my kids, who I currently homeschool.
All in all I feel so energetic and alive; this WOE has been a true godsend to me. I am horrified at the damage my poor body has had to try and compensate for all of these years!
I encourage everyone to think of your success in terms of what you're now able to do, etc vs. always just looking to a number on the scale. How do you feel? Try to think back to before Atkins and how sluggish life seemed to be; I don't want to go back to that, ever!
My next little goal that I'm working toward is being able to actually wear my wedding and engagement rings. I've not been able to fit them on my fingers for years now and I would love to surprise my husband by being able to wear them by our anniversary in November. Wish me luck....

Thanks for the comment; I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. One of the things that I did to substitue for bread was to use this recipe to make the "oopsie rolls":The Lighter Side of Low-Carb: The Sailor Scouts make my Revol-oopsie rolls!.
This makes a wonderful substitute that truly does taste like bread. I think you will find them truly amazing when you taste them!
I stay strong and resist temptation by thinking about all of the harm I am doing to my body when I ingest things like sugar, white flour, yeast, etc. I've been doing a lot of reading on nutrition and was really shocked to see that bread has virtually NO nutrition left in it by the time the manufacturers are done with it. It has been stripped of all vitamins and a very empty food; even if it is so-called fortified. Pre-Atkins, I had developed a regular pattern of heart palpitations and that is a scary thing and I have found that it is related to a vitamin/mineral deficiency so I am really motivated to getting as much whole foods that count when I can. I have only been doing Atkins for 50 days but I've lost 23 lbs and I feel great! I think about each thing that enters my body now and feeling good motivates me to making better decisions.
Please let me know how things are going with you from time-to-time; I'd love to hear about your success!
