The good part of today is that I went to the gym for the first time in about a year.
Managed to do 1 hour on a cross trainer at an average heart rate of 165bpm. too high for fat loss, a little to high for my age for cardio, but having falled backwards with my fitness I wanted to give my heart a serious kick start.
I will probably try to interval train with my heart rate bouncing between about 135 and 155 on a 5 min cycle to keep be going between fat loss and cardio.
Will probably try to do cardio 1 hr on a monday, cardio 30 mins and weights 30 mins on a tuesday. then the same cycle on thursdays and fridays with wednesday and the weekend as recovery patches with maybe a long hike on a sunday... here goes nothing!
The bad part was I was so busy today I dont think I ate properly. had brunch of 3 beef patties and 2 rashers of bacon, skipped lunch, had egg mayo and ham for light dinner before the gym and then went grocery shopping at got home about 1am (now)... no not a good day with not enough meals.
Also not a good day because at the gym I used to have to work much harder to get my heart rate that high and my recovery time for my heart rate used to be much shorter. So it shows how unfit I have become through not going to the gym on a regular basis.. need to start doing it on a regular basis!
