here goes my diet history
One week into induction and feeling like I am on the right track. I was a very thin active child, never had a weight problem and was a gymnast in high school. College brought about a weight loss the first year because I lived on a 4th floor walk up and hated the food; was not very good at making friends to go to meal with. Often I skipped. My dad actually worried that I was becoming too thin at 117 lbs. Started a sit down job and put on a few lbs. When I married at 21 I weighed 137. Two years later I lost our first child and had emergency surgery. I know I was up, and gained more during the recovery. I never weighed myself. A few months later during my next pregnancy I let myself eat anything I wanted and stopped checking my weight at over 185 lbs, but I did get my beautiful little girl (she's now 21) for this. I lost some of this weight but not all. Two years later I became pregant again with my son (now 19) and kept my weight more in check only gaining 25lbs, but my weight was still up over all. This started many years of up and down dieting but very little exercise. About 15 years ago I signed up for nutrisystem and completed it. For the first time in years got down to 130lbs. However once off (it was really low fat, low taste and really expensive) I gained it right back along with problems with my gallbladder(which I would eventually have to have out). In the following years I have had many starts and stops with weight watchers with mixed results. I could never stay on it and the weight loss would come back. Three years ago I was at my non-pregnant highest of 178 lbs (that I know of) and started south beach with my husband. After a 20 lb weight loss I stalled for six months and gave up. The weight again started creeping up. 1 year ago I started weight watchers at work and lost 18 lbs and again stalled and gave up. My weight creeped up to 163 which was my starting weight last week. I am down 4.5 lbs as of today of last day of my first week of induction. I am excited about atkins, but concerned about the stalls that I have had in the past. I think after reading through some of information posted that my body thought I was starving myself and I didn't drink enough water. I am 45 and a half. My goal is to have my diet under control for the first time in my life and be healthy as I start the next 45 years. I come from a family of obese women. If I don't do this I see my future at family gatherings. I have been on hypertension meds for the past 15 years but have slowly increased my exercising over the past few years. I feeling a little tired so the motivation to exercise is difficult. Here goes week two of induction!
