I know that my body tends to gain before a good drop, but this morning its a 4 pound gain???? Today is Day 21 for me and not a single CHEAT and I gained 4 pounds. Thank goodness for my measurements because they say I've lost 3 inches...but that is still a tad demoralizing....3 inches in 21 days. I've been working out, doing aerobics, walking every day, drinking tons of water, and following induction to the letter and yet.....4 pound gain this morning.
I also pulled a muscle in my upper back this weekend, so there goes all my plans this week for Yoga, weight lifting, and aerobics. I was doing so well and taking such good care of myself too. Damn it!
I'm not giving up though, not even close. I'm taking this set back to re-evaluate what I'm doing. Get back to only 1 diet soda a day, reduce the amount of olives, increase the amount of meat and eggs. I also need to start drinking my tea again. Maybe thats what has caused this stall.

While it may cause stress and frustration I also find it enlightening to watch what my body does on a daily basis during my weight loss journey. If I didn't do it I'd have no idea that my body tends to gain weight for a few days before a big drop. I think I'd be more depressed than frustrated if I only weighed myself weekly and saw a 4 pound gain and no apparent reason for it.
3 inches, and I'm glad for it. Looking forward to another 3 inches...I only have 40 more days to get into a size 16 so I can return my wedding dress for the next size down. I am absolutely determined!
I found articles about that study here and here.
I guess it makes sense though. If you weigh in this morning and have gained 2 pounds, you are more likely to exercise, to exercise harder, and for a longer period time. You would probably also be more likely to be careful with your diet than someone who doesnt know about the gain(whether significant or not). I guess I can see the science behind it.
Good work girl.
