Well, today makes day 49 on Atkins and while I'm still fluctuating between 228 and 225 on a regular basis (as I have been for 3 weeks now) I feel I'm hitting the next level.

My energy is starting to come back, I'm not as hungry much anymore, and I'm sleeping better. The occasional craving still pops up but I'm handling it better. I'm even using less splenda in my coffee (1 packet instead of 2)

Spent Saturday working and running errands, and then we worked out to one of our new dvds, and I'll get to that in a minute. Sunday was cooking and cleaning day. Man, did we cook. We now have Butter Chicken, Fried Chicken, Tuna Casserole, Meatballs, Meatloaf, and Egg Salad to last us the rest of the week. We've also decided to do the seared Tuna once a week as we love it so much. It was a very nice weekend.

Now...the workout. OUCH! We bought a few workout DVDs and one of them was the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Burn. I hate her. Throughout the workout I called her every name in the book. I now have a whole new respect for those contestants and what she puts them through. I didn't know if I could get through the whole 20 minutes (how pathetic) without keeling over dead. The results? I was in pain and musclular agony all day Sunday and am still whimpering like a beaten dog this morning. She beat the crap out of us. Like the sadistic idiots we are we have planned to do it again tonight.

The workout is all interval trainings. You do 30 seconds of specific moves for 20 minutes, things like jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, punching, jumping rope, lunges, some with weights and some without. There are three levels you can use depending on how much endurance you have. We started at beginner. Wish they had sub-beginner.

She claims that if you do the workout once a day for 30 days and combine that with her special diet you'll lose 20 pounds in 30 days. RIGHT. No thank you. I'd rather build my endurance and eat my high fat/protein/low carb diet. I could see how this workout every day could whip you into shape, but considering I had to take a 36 hour break in between uses just to recooperate...not sure if its plausible for someone so out of shape to do 30 days in a row. I mean, you have to let us fat girls REST! So we're going to workout in some way 6 days a week and Sunday will be our day of rest.

My goal...while it is a dated goal its really more of a hope than anything else...is to be out of the 220s and working into the 210s by Thanksgiving. Thats only 6 pounds in over a month. I think thats reasonable. I think getting back into a workout routine will help matters. At least I hope so.

Hope you all had fabulous weekends filled with weight losses and personal bests!
