We first went through our cupboards and fridge and tossed everything candida-causing that would be going bad within 3 weeks...out went our lovely all natural no-carb BBQ marinade (vinegar), out went our soy sauce, our low-sugar ketchup, our cheeses, our non-dairy creamer, all our sauces, and even our bbq flavored pork rinds (yeast!). It was very painful.
Then we went shopping. Starting at WholeFoods we bought organic veggies, organic chicken, organic steaks and organic pork chops. We even found a few meat rubs that we could have. After all was said and done I spent $130. Ugh! Then we went to Giant and bought organic eggs, regular pork rinds, mozzerella (the only cheese you can have) and a few other items to make the week liveable. Another $50. Double Ugh!
But, when all groceries were put away and I was cooking I felt better about it. No antibiotics or hormones in the meats, no antibiotics in my eggs, very little dairy...not too shabby. Last night we had pork chops in a tequila lime rub with faux-mashed potatoes (cauliflower) and egg drop soup. I'm having the same for lunch today.
I also created a tea filled with anti-yeast/fungal herbs. We're drinking it twice a day and it actually tastes pretty good. Lots of chamomile, cloves, cinnamon, calendula, garlic and licorice root.
This morning we had tea instead of coffee and I didn't DIE! Imagine that! For breakfast I had 3 sausages since all the buffet place had for eggs had random cheeses in it and I already know that the sausages are fine. I have pork rinds for a snack and egg drop soup for later snack. I think this will work. We just have to keep cooking...as there is NOTHING we can really eat fast anymore (maybe a chipotle salad without any of the cheese...but I'm not sure if their marinade has vinegar in it...project for the day).
Weekend was nice, got to see friends and worked my butt off all day Saturday and Sunday....hate that! Now its Monday and it doesn't seem real. Weighed myself this morning and did not like the number I saw...I did everything right and still saw a gain. Wha??? Not letting it get to me, I'm going to keep plugging away. I just want to slap my metabolism a few times to get it woken up!

But some people find that they need to eliminate all cheese.
Dry spices often have mold in them.
Spices in sausages can also be a problem for some.
The rub has spices, nothing but spices, there is dried lemon and lime zest towards the bottom of the list, but that was it. It came from WholeFoods Market and had been made the day before (and there is only enough to last two meals) so I'm not going to fret over the tiny amount of mold that may or may not be in it...but it's a good point. (it's also a good rub!)
The sausages are organic and I've looked at the packaging of the products they used...took a lot of poking and prodding but they let me look at it a few months ago when I began Atkins and needed something for breakfast. There was nothing in them that wasn't Atkins friendly. Now, that was months ago and I don't remember exactly what spices were in them, but I generally don't get bothered by spices.
