I started induction December 28, 2009. It is now January 6, 2010. I have lost 6lbs so far. It seems a bit easier for me to start during the new year, no birthdays for a while, and no holidays that revolve around eating.
The other best thing is New Year resolutions most people are trying to lose weight now, so cakes, cookies, and things of that nature on not being forced upon you at work.
I know you make your own choices and tell people now which I have done, but it IS annoying when people buy pizza, ask you if you want some and then get offended if you say no you don't want a piece. "Why, you don't like pizza?" Or you don't want any cookies, or brownies....I made these at home by scratch. Why do people try to push bad eating habits on other people?
It's like they want you to go down the path with them and that misery loves company.
I did an experiment. Two weeks before I even starting Atkins again I bought my book to work, and started reading it on my breaks. Co-workers asked why am I doing that book, did I start yet...it's a weird diet. And then they proceeded in bringing me high carb things such as pizza, fries topped with cheese, bacon and sour cream. Cookies, pies. Why? Why would you do something like that?
So again I am not going to discuss my low carb diet to anyone outside of my house. People just seem to sabotage low carbers efforts. I just said I'm going to try to eat more veggies, and substitute one meal a week for a non meat meal. People haven't bothered me since. When people ask me what I'm doing to lose weight, I'm going to say: Nothing, I'm not doing anything different, just new clothes. Until I reach goal this is my plan. If people don't think you are dieting or modifying your diet, they leave you alone!
That's so sad isn't it?
