Debra posted this to the email group. Hope you don't mind me reposting it here. I want to try it. I really miss ice cream.

    "Ziploc" Vanilla Ice Cream

    Recipe By :RLP1
    Categories esserts

    1 tablespoon artificial sweetener
    1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    1/2 cup Heavy Cream
    6 tablespoons Table Salt
    3 cups Ice
    1 Sandwich Sized Ziploc Bag
    1 Gallon Sized Ziploc Bag

(No Ice Cream Maker Needed. It really works, trust me!!)

In the sandwich sized ziploc, combine the sugar substitute, vanilla
extract and heavy cream. Seal the bag and shake lightly to mix ingredients.

In the gallon sized ziploc bag, add 3 cups of ice (or fill half the bag
with ice)and add 6 tablespoons of table salt.

Place the seal sandwich sized bag into the gallon bag and seal the
gallon bag. Shake the entire contents for at least 4 minutes (shake longer
    for harder ice cream).

Once desired hardness has been achieved, remove smaller baggies and
rinse throughly with cold water (if you miss this step, you may wind up with
    salty ice cream!)

Recipe makes about a 1/2 cup of ice cream.

I have doubled the recipe and it still works well. I am also sure that
you can add additional ingredients (cocoa powder, etc) to create different
flavors of ice cream. Lastly for our friends and relatives who aren't
on low carb diets, they can use milk and regular sugar rather than the
    cream and sugar substitute.

:P Hi, I tried this zip-loc ice cream because I am an ice cream fanatic. It is absolutely delicious and it cured my craving for ice cream. If I only make the recipe showed, I do fine, BUT, if I would double it I know I would eat the whole thing. LOL. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks on induction and I have hit the 10 lbs. gone mark. Whoo Hoo...I always got stuck on losing 5 and would quit. I have also been in both of my favorite places to eat in a hurry, Taco Bell and KFC and in TB I didn't order anything and KFC I ordered the chicken breast w/nothing but the chicken. My daughter just wanted to go thru drive thru cause she didn't think I could handle it, but I had no craving whatsoever. I LOVE THIS ATKINS!!!!!!!
    Everyone have a WONDERFUL weekend.

        Rosie,
Thanks for this recipe....one of my favorite desserts is Ice-Cream!! Tomorrow will be my first day on the Atkins diet...I really need to lose at least 60 pounds. I have 2 of my friends who have really lost alot of weight on the Atkins diet. I am finally sick of my self and enough is enough. I do not plan to gain not one more pound. I'm really excited about this diet and with God's help I KNOW I can do this!!

              I LOVE THIS ICE CREAM

I made the ice cream about 2 days ago... I doubled the recipe so then I had half leftover and froze it-I took it out today as a snack and it's still delicious! Not as soft but still pretty good and didn't spend time making it all over again-great recipe Thanks!

This sounds pretty good. I'd like to make a batch of chocolate flavored ice cream.

I am preparing it now. After reading all these posts, I am a bit leary. Perhaps I should wait until I have better control over my eating. I don't want anything to spark that sugar craving in me. I have done well for 3 days.

OH MY GOD!! This was devine!! And so easy my 2 year old did the shaking for me. The consistency, the clean up....The TASTE! I know this WOE is going to work for me this time. In the past I bought the store brands of lowcarb ice cream like CarbSolutions, Atkins and Byers. They all had other things in them besides Splenda. Now I know I can't have it every day, but it is delicious and I dont' have to wonder what is in it. I even believe I could pass it off as real home made ice cream to my husband who buys a pint every other night!

Oh, by the way, I tried it with just a drop of vanilla extract and a 1/2 tsp of strawberry extract. Decadent!!

Thanks to the genius that came up with this one!

I'm so glad you found something that satisfied that sweet tooth for you! You can also add some unsweetened cocoa powder and make chocolate, or any flavor you want with your favorite extract!

Hmmm...sounds like this would rival my all-time favorite cheesecake "clouds!" LOL Unfortunately, these will have to wait until a bit further along on Atkins, but I can't wait to try them!
