  • 0 Carb jello - made with Diet Rite (or atkins frndly soda)

    Hi All,

Due to Jell-o putting Asparteme in thier SF jello, I checked out unflavoured geletine (Knox brand) box and the stats are as follows:

    Total Fat: 0g
    Sodium: 15 mg
    Total Carb: 0
    Protein: 6g

Instead of making this with fruit juice as they recommend, I have used Diet Rite soda to flavour the geletine. Diet Rite is apparently is made with liquid splenda so there are no carbs.

    Here are the directions:

The directions on the Knox box are:
4 enveloped Knox (4 are in the box)
1 cup cold fruit juice (I used diet rite)
3 cups fruit juice, heated to boiling ( I used diet rite.. funny watching soda boil, but it actually helps get rid of alot of the carbonation)
2 tablespoons sugar or honey, optional (i skipped this ingredient)

Sprinkle knox over cold juice in large bowl; let stand 1 minute. Add hot juice and stir until knox completely disolves. Stir in sugar or honey if desired. Refrigerate until firm (3 hours)

So far I have tried Diet Rite Tangering (nice) and Waist Watchers Vanilla Cream. Both have been nice with a little dollop of whipped cream!

As recommended, to be on the safe side, you will probably want to limit your intake to 1/2 cup and count 1 carb.

    Enjoy!!

I've been using the Crystal Ice bottled drinks. Some are sweetened with Slpenda. But be careful, some flavors are sweetened with Aspartame.
I usually buy the cranberry/rasberry, the orange mango or my favorite is the fruit punch.
