  • Breakfast Smoothies

Hi, I haven't tried this yet but a friend did and loves it.

    BREAKFAST SMOOTHIES

    1 Cup plain whole-milk yogurt
    2 1/2 cups sliced strawberries (1 qt.)
    4 ozs. silken tofu
2 packets sugar substitute, or more, to taste
    8 ice cubes

    1. In a blender, puree all ingredients, except ice cubes, on high until smooth.

    2. Add ice cubes one at a time through feed tube, using ice crusher feature on blender, blend til smooth.

    Prep time: 5 minutes
4 servings (2/3 cup per serving)

    CARBS: 11.5 GRAMS
    NET CARBS: 9 GRAMS
    FIBER: 2.5 GRAMS
    PROTEIN: 4 GRAMS
    FAT: 3 GRAMS
    CALORIES: 86

She said she just adds the ice cubes to her blender cause hers don't have a ice-crusher feature and it turns out fine.

    Hope everyone enjoys.

This does sound good. Here's the one I've been using with great success. Tastes great and keeps me going well into lunch time.

      3/4 cup water
      1/2 cup strawberries
      2 tbsp heavy cream (35%)
      1 whole egg
1 scoop (30 grams) Dynawhey protein powder.

Add them all to a blender and whip it up. Add some Splenda if you like.

I use the Orange-vanilla cream flavour of the Dynawhey but any low carb protein powder will do.

As best as I can figure, this drink has 6.5 grams usable carbs and about 2 grams fibre. If you want more fibre, add a tbsp or two of flax seed powder.

I've substituted different berries with equal success, but I find blackberries and raspberries too seedy. Taste is just as good though.
