  • Soy Milk allowed?

I'm going into extend induction next week. I found natural "un-sweetened" soy milk that has as many carbs as fiber - here's what the label reads:

    Ingredients: Water, Sojaflower (9%)

    100 ml have:
    Calories: 41 kcal
    Protein: 4 g
    Carbs: 1.5 g (0 from sugar)
    Fat: 2 g
    Fiber: 1.5 g

Can I already drink this kind of soy milk during extended induction? I really miss drinking milk (not that unsweetened soy milk is something delicious, but anyhow). Or do I have to wait until I am in OWL? Anybody knows?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Re: Soy Milk allowed?

Soy milk is not legal until Rung 6 (legumes) of OWL, as it's made from soy, and soybeans are legumes.

"Real" milk and reduced-carb or reduced-calorie milk is legal during Rung 2 (dairy) of OWL.

If you are eager to add in new foods, I suggest you move to OWL. There's no real benefit to extending induction, and actually, many people find they have a jumpstart in weightloss when they move to OWL. The first rung of OWL is Rung 1, veggies. This means you add another 5g serving of induction veggies to your daily menu.

Juli- what about tofu? I need to get a hold of another ANDR (lent mine out to a friend and never got it back), to read more, but I was under the impression that tofu was induction friendly.
I haven't had it yet, but it crossed my mind.

Soy is actually pretty bad for you. Do a quick Google search on it.
