This is a silly thing really, but for a long time I've been storing my celery wrapped in foil as is often recommended. It has worked ok.... But.
About a 6 months ago, I was told another way, and it works GREAT. Take a wide container (I use a Tall cottage cheese container & I have a friend that uses the bottom half of a 2 liter soda bottle wrapped with a piece of duct tape for reinforcement), and fill it half way with cold water. Take your celery, slice a tiny bit off the bottom, and stand your celery in it. Cover the whole thing loosely with a plastic bag, and place on a tall shelf, or in the door of your frig. It always stays crisp and juicy, along with continuing to grow while in the frig. The longest I've stored it was a month when I went out of town for a couple weeks, but I've never had any go bad since starting this.
