  • Walden Farms Alfredo sauce = review

Well tonight i figured i would try some new grub, so i made some of the Atkins Quick Quisine Rotini nuddles, and i would top them off with Walden Farms Alfredo sause, to go along with the Chicken i was also makeing ,sounded good, no calories, carbs or sugars, or chlostrol, at this point i should have known something was wrong, and ohhhh was it WRONG. i wil have to admit i belive this was the most RETCHED VILE DISCUSTING thing ive ever placed in my mouth bar none ! luckely my wife was not in my way of the sink when i put it in my mouth, it went out faster then it went in, i am verry dissapointed, do some of thies companys not belive in taste testing ? or Quality, or repeat customers or referhals?, what is up with thies companys selling LO-CARB food, seems like 90% of the lo-carb stuff ive bought i wouldnt feed my garbage disposal, are they just trying to make a fast buck and cater to our weakness for food on a limited diet ? ut
Honestly im not sure if the Atkins nuddles were good or not, lol mabey ill try them again with something else

      Tried it tonight

Coupled with the horrible Atkins Spaghetti, it is not fit to eat. I suppose I have myself to blame. I bought it from the Nutritional store that only went lo-carb because it was in vogue and they still push granola every chance they get.

So when the 20somethingyearold clerk who says she eats a diet in moderation and exercises says something lo-carb is good, I must ignore her.

This is the place to get the right answer.

Why would you buy a low carb version of alfredo sauce? It's basically butter, cream, and parmesean, all high fat, low carb, atkins friendly ingredients.

Here's one recipe, do a web search for variations.

        1/2 cup butter
        2/3 cup heavy cream
        1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
        1/4 teaspoon salt
        dash of pepper

Heat butter and cream in saucepan until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper; stir until sauce is blended and fairly smooth.

I don't think I trust any alfredo sauce that has no calories...

Heh, I was about to come write a comment on the Walden Farms no-carb Marinara sauce. I think I was even going to use the phrase "most WRETCHED VILE DISGUSTING" substance I've ever had the misfortune to eat. BLECH! Worse yet, the aftertaste stayed with me for the rest of the day, despite brushing my teeth and gargling mouthwash several times.

I'll echo Swag on this. I guess saving time is a good thing when it comes to food, but not in this instance. Canned alfredo (lc or not) should be eradicated for the benefit of all mankind.

That recipe looks great Swag, thanks!
