  • Mission Low carb tortillas

anyone tried these... just got some of the whole wheat ones from Safeway. 10 net carbs, 21grams of fiber. Taste great to me!! Much better than the La Tortilla Factory ones

I have heard that the La Tortilla Factory are identical to real ones, but haven't had a chance to try yet. Wow though at grams per tortilla they better be good .

That's for the 12 inch ones. The 8 inchers are a net 4 for the whole wheat and a net 5 for the "normal" ones.

I bought some wheat ones last night. Haven't tried them yet. However I see chorizo and eggs in my near future....

Oops. Not 8 inch, 6.5 inch.

And I tried them last night. The woman didn't pick up any eggs, so no chorizo. I settled for a quesadilla.

They are pretty good. Taste is very close to normal. The mouth feel is off, but not so much as to be a problem.

Used in moderation, this is a winner.

Well, I finally had my chorizo and eggs. I warmed up and buttered one of these bad boys (the 6.5 inch, 4 carb ones) and sat down to eat.

It looked pretty small all folded up. But all in all the whole experience was pretty much like the "real" one.

They work well as tortillas. Next step some sort of deli roll. ensive

I can not get any low carb tortillas in my area.

What I did fine that is great is Joseph's pita pockets. They are 5 net carbs each. I use them for sandwiches, nachos, and quesadias.

              quick desert

I take the La Tortilla Factory tortillas and melt butter and then sprinkle a pack of splenda and a little bit of cinnamon. Wow. Gets rid of that sweet craving.

Actually I think you will find it FEEDS and thus prolongs that sweet craving.

You are probably better off trying to kill that craving off completly. Barring that I would look to fruit.

I haven't found the low carb tortillas in my grocery stores yet but I did pick up some low carb lawash bread. It looks and tastes like a tortilla. For a 12 incher it is 5 net carbs. I got them up at Hollywood market for 1.89 (package of 6).

My DH and I used them to make pizza.........HEAVEN!!

This is sinful...but please this is not for induction.

You take your tortilla's and fill them with a mouse. make sure the ends are closed then you deep fry them, and roll them in splenda.

                      Oh Man!!!

You can also roll them up around any cheese you like and deep fry them.

You can also take mozzarella cut it into sticks and roll them in pork rinds and deep fry.

You can also cut them in strips and bake in the oven and sprinkle cheese on them and dunk them in a sour cream dip.

And of course your breakfast burrito.
Oh see what you all did..LOL!!

I need to go find something to do besides eat..LOL!!

                      Take care and enjoy!

I tried the Misiion LC wheat tortillas, "fajita size", so, the small ones. They taste pretty good, but they do contain trans-fats.

When I entered all the info from the back of the package into Fitday, something didn't fit. I double checked everything I entered. It was right. Fitday said the carbs/prtoein/calories listed didn't add up. For the carb/fat/protein count on the back of the package, it said calories should be 46 per tortilla. The Package lists 80 cals/per tortilla. I had to tweak the carbs quite a bit to get it to fit. It made me suspicious. I know it's a new product, but still...they can try to get their own nutrition information right!

I tried the flour ones and I'll say they were great with tuna but horrid with butter. One of my favourite things to eat (before) was flour tortillas warmed with melted butter...mmm!! But these low carb tortillas were not good that way. That was a bit disappointing, they're just a bit too chewy.

I got some of the misson low-carb flour tortillas on a whim. I got to eat one of them before the disappeared (anytime you put cheese and tortillas in the fridge they disappear cause my little ones like to make quesadillas). I've been informed that I have to buy these all the time because they "taste better" than the regular ones by my 9yr old picky eater son. They ARE pretty good, and I like how they stay soft even after someone leaves them open in the fridge. Kind of on the expensive side though.. $2.99 for 10! They'd be ok as a treat every once in a while though. Just a thought.. for those craving chips and don't like the low-carb chips.. cut these tortillas into small strips or whatever shape flaots your boat and fry them in olive oil until crisp and then toss them on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven at 325degrees for a few minutes and you've got chips. Careful with these those.. it might cause cravings!
