  • Atkins Morning Start Creamy Cinnamon Bun bar

This has to be one of the ten worst things I've ever tasted in my life. Never mind that it doesn't taste like a cinnamon bun--it doesn't taste like food.

Fortunately all I had was a small bite of my husband's, so I didn't have to throw out a whole bar and waste the money. I tasted it just out of curiosity, since I'm in OWL and don't do bars. My husband didn't like it much but apparently didn't hate it, since he finished it.

Interesting . I used to have those from time to time (the morning start are not nearly as bad as the Advantage bars with regards to stalls, but I have pretty much decided to abstain from all bars right now). I actually liked the cinnamon ones. I agree they taste nothing like a cinnamon bun, but they tasted generally pleasant to me.

The apple ones are however, much better.

I TOTALLY agree! That flavor was completely awful. Haven't tried any of the other ones after that one!

Which means I should never try them, LOL! The last thing I want is to find a bar I like. ;-)

I will say that it's possible that the bar didn't objectively taste as bad as I (and Mandyjane) thought. After almost ten weeks on Atkins with almost no processed foods passing my lips, my tastebuds have become ultrasensitive. Sweet things taste very sweet to me, salty things taste very salty, etc. (I had some fresh ricotta yesterday that tasted to me like someone had liberally sweetened and salted it, but it was just ordinary ricotta, straight out of the container). So I acknowledge that the bar could taste fine to someone who isn't the pathetic delicate flower that I've become. LOL!

I didn't have any problems w/the Cinnamon Bun bars. I thought they were fine.

The Blueberry Muffin Bars are also very good. They are very moist, and doughy. (if you like that texture..........)

I'm the same way Lulu. I have these ultrasensitive tastebuds anymore also. So that may very possibly be our problem with the bars! Never thought of that.

I agree Lulu. I had the cinnimon bun bar for my first breakfast meal on my first day of Atkins. HORRIBLE! I almost puked! Not a good start for the diet.

i put the cinnamon bars in the fridge and eat them cold but there is still something about them that gives me goose bumps.
it's almost like they have manufactured cinnamon in them.
