  • Anyone tried Atkins Pizza?

I noticed that they sell frozen pizza on the Atkins website - has anyone tried it yet? It sounds good.

    Thanks,

Hmmm, I haven't yet, I will have to take a peak.

On the topic of pizza however:

Bikergoddess's pizza/quiche thing is pretty darn tasty, not really pizza like though, still, give it a try the flavor is great.

I am experimenting in making the perfect low-carb pizza dough, I can get the flavoring and spices just right, I just can't seem to nail the consistency. It is always too soft and breadlike, not chewy and crusty like a real pizza, I will post an update once I figure it out. I think the trick might be to get some wheat gluten, which I think might be the same thing as wpi, so, once I get ahold of some I will report back.

        Pizza Crust Recipe

I haven't tried this myself, but someone posted it the other day and I copy most recipes with the word Pizza in them!

        Pizza crust

        3/4 cup soy protein powder
        ½ cup cream
        3 eggs
        seasonings
        Spread on cookie sheet.
Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 20 mins.

Remember to season the crust, otherwise it's quite bland!

5 net carbs for the whole crust, 6 total, 1 fiber, 612 calories, 57 fat, 19 protein.

        Add whatever toppings you like!

          Atkins Pizza

I've tried it; it's not a New York pizza - and you might be able to create a larger one yourself with just as many (or less) carbs - but it taste pretty good to me (I've tried all 3) and convenient when you don't have the time or energy to make something from scratch!
Anyone try any of those lo-carb pizza dough kits?
