Just ordered the Carbquick Bake mix from netrition...just wondering if anyone has tried this particular brand..I've heard that it is sooo much better than the Atkins Bake mix? Anyone have any opinions or good recipes to try with this?

Re: Carbquick Bake mix
My friend Pami is the CarbQuik Queen. LOL Seriously. http://users.usall.com/health.us/pami/carbquik.html
Linda Sue (http://users3.ev1.net/%7Efontlady/recipes.html ) also has carbquik recipes, as does Kirsten http://candidcam.macsrule.com/recipes.html.

Re: Carbquick Bake mix
This stuff is great. I had alot of success with muffins and biscuits and pancakes (they're awsome!) with it. They also have recipes ont eh website http://www.tovaindustries.com/carbalose/recipe.php
It's more like a biscuit mix, , not a flour, ie wouldn't be good for thickening, in meatloaf etc. only baking or things that need leavening like some batters (pancake, tempura, beer batter) because it contains baking powder, dried egg whites etc. Use it like you would Bisquick , for leavening.
If want want just a Flour substitute, netrition.com sells just the Carbalose flour on its own (it's the main ingredient in Carbquick).
Also keep the baking powder in mind when you are substituting it in baking recipes. you may need to cut down the amount you normally add.Jen, 39, F

Re: Carbquick Bake mix
Got this today in the mail and I made my own version of cheddar bay biscuits w/ this mix ... stirred in 1/4 cup cheddar cheese garlic powder, onion salt, and a touch of salt. Baked 10 mins. then brushed w/ melted butter w/ spices mixed in and sprinkled a bit of cheese on the top...baked 2 more mins. and then used the broiler for a minute or two...and ohhhh my...they were sooooo good!!! Tomorrow I'm gonna try deep frying some chicken breast w/ this!!

Re: Carbquick Bake mix
Sorry, haven't tried any other low carb bake mixes...I must report on the carbquick again. I made deep fried chicken and onion rings and dipped them in the heinz 1 carb ketchup...this was soooo awesome! Now I won't be tempted to eat all the high carb foods when we go away this weekend!

Re: Carbquick Bake mix
Just gotta say that I used Carbquik and loved it. I made sausage gravy with it and it turned out awesome. I also made the waffles using some cinnamon and vanilla and they rocked! Gotta be careful b/c it will cause a stall if used a lot.
