  • Litehouse One Carb Plus, Atkins product, Carb Options

These are items that I don't use a ton of, and don't use very often, but I want to have a decent version of each in the fridge.
What I've tried so far -

Atkins Ketchatomato - has more of a complex flavour than regular ketchup, but I didn't mind it, and it was easy to get used to. I wasn't much of a ketchup fan anyway, but I like a bit of it on certain things.
    It's a keeper.

Atkins BBQ sauce - I'm used to Bull's Eye Honey Smoke BBQ sauce, so of course this comes up short. It's 'ok'...but just ok. To me it has a slight chemically taste to it, which I think is the Splenda.

Atkins Teriyaki - I like to add a bit of this to meatball mixture to boost the flavour. I first used it when I made the Asian Pork Patties with dipping sauce at the Atkins.com site, and I enjoyed it.
    It's a keeper.

Litehouse One Carb Plus dressings - I tried the blue cheese one and while it's not as robust as other's I've tried, it was definitely a keeper. Some blue cheese dressings taste, of all things, soapy to me, and this had a decent flavour.
Might be a keeper, but I'll have to compare it to our usual blue cheese dressing by Renee's before I make the decision.

Carb Options Italian Dressing - Acceptable. Has a sweet edge to it, which, on it's own, is fine, but when you're thinking Italian, it doesn't quite work. Also, it seems that as much as I shake the bottle, there's this layer of oil that stays on the top.

Carb Options Asian Teriyaki Marinade - Salty. I put this over cooked meatballs and heated them up and it was ok, but I had to let the sauce drip off the meatball before I ate it. I think it would be too strong as a marinade, but might be good as something on the side that I could dip my fork in before spearing a meatball.

Hey moochie I am a Canadian Atkins'er too, the Lite house one carb Ceaser is awesome give it a go.

I have found a much better bbq sauce I don't care for atkins at all, its called Walden Farms, its hard to find a low carb store here in calgary brings it in.

I find the Atkins Teriyaki is good for a marinade but sux for a dipping sauce.

That carb store also smuggles in Diet Rite Soda which is not aval in Canada as far as I know but I have found Jones Sugar free sodas made with Splenda here and they are really good, mind you they are expensive.

I appreciate your posts on any products you find in Canada ! Thanks

Yes, you keep me posted too about Canadian products!

We were eating lunch today and bf had the jar of regular Litehouse blue cheese, and I had the low carb version. I sat them side by side, read the labels, and they have the exact same ingredients. The only difference that I could see is that the regular lists it's serving size as 1 TBS = .5 carbs, and the low carb lists it's serving size as 2 TBS = 1 carb.

Sure pays to read the label!
I'll check the price next time, and since the low carb bottle is smaller than the jar, I'm thinking I'll just be buying the regular one.

The best, BEST blue cheese dressing though, by far, is Renee's. I haven't read the label though, so I'm not sure if I would be able to use it. It's got nice big chunks of blue cheese in it.

I'll keep an eye out for Walden's bbq. I miss my bbq ribs!!!!
