I was going to write a post earlier yesterday about who in the world was going around to my local supermarkets and buying up all the Heintz low carb ketchup. It was not until my third store that I finally located some, and in my relative glee (it is my favourite condiment of choice) picked up two bottles to put on my pantry shelf.
I was later revising that post in my head this morning when, after measuring out the requisit portion with my morning sausage, it tasted strange and gross, sort of sweet but not really, just generally something wrong. But I had a lot to do today, so I sort of kept on about my business and forgot about it.
It was not until lunch when it accompanied a hamburger (generally I don't eat this much ketchup, but it's been a very meat centric day) when I was absolutely overwhelmed by the grossness and went to see if they had changed the recipe on me.
Well, much to my chagrin I'd purchased the LOW SALT Ketchup which, I swear was in the EXACT SAME little bottle with a green label. It'd only been a few days since I'd ran out of the old stuff--how could I have possibly mistaken the bottles?? I swear in my mind's eye they are identical.
Either way, to my horror, instead of my 2 carb addition I have consumed at least **10** of this disgusting ketchup today and I'm really upset about it. I feel awful too--I think all the regular sugar has really sickened my stomach and made me sort of naseous.
Anyway, hopefully this can serve as a warning to those picking it up...keep your eyes open!
