  • Tostitos and Doritos Edge Chips

Tostitos and Doritos has come out with a low carb chip line. No trans-fats, I hear. Nacho cheese, Cool Ranch, Cheese Puffs and Tortilla chips. Has anyone tried them?

I have not tried them yet, but I did read the ingredient list and it is not that bad, the main ingredient is soy protein.

They aer totally doable. The Nacho cheese are the best. I did not do the cheese puffs as they are a little too high on the carbs for me.

Since my last post, I've tried the Nacho cheese flavor -- probably the best low-carb chip I've had, but it still tastes "grainy" because of the soy. I hear that the tortilla chips are quite good. Other boards say the cheese puffs are kind of gross.

Looks like I can have some low-carb chips with my low-carb beer on occasional weekends -- I feel like a true sports fan again. And just in time for the upcoming soccer season and the NFL.

I haven't seen or tried those yet but I found some pretty darned good chips made by Michael Season's--they are Soy Protein Chips and I found them about a year ago at my local Kroger--they are really good and make great dippers!

I really enjoy the Cheese Puffs. They are "heavier" and less "airy" than the regular ones, but the flavor is the same.

I'm make sure to eat only 4 or 5 of 'em once or twice a day... just a small quick snack.

I love the doritos! I was so happy when I just read Bren's post that they were doable. I was like PHEWW!!!
I, however; refuse to buy the big bag...I would eat them endlessly. I will only eat the little bags I find at subway. That way, I know that I wont go over my limit.
